Blanca Aviles

Blanca is grateful for her mom who first exposed her to yoga. She completed Moksha Yoga's teacher training in 2003 with her mom and her sister. The experience was a tremendous journey that brought good changes in her life. The screen in which she perceives life is clearer thanks to the wonderful benefits of yoga. She also completed Shiva Rea's Teacher training in 2004. Blanca is also inspired by master teachers Duncan Wong and Seane Corn. Blanca is currently a Senior at Columbia College, Chicago. She is studying choreography and teaching in her passion: Dance. Her dedicated yoga practices as well as intense dance training go hand in hand as they are both beautiful expressions of the body and spirit.

How you react on the mat is a reflection of how you react off the mat. Blanca learned this through influential teachers Lindsey Levin and Daren Friesen at Moksha Yoga Center. As she learns to overcome obstacles in her practice, she feels the strength to overcome obstacles of life in a healthy, loving way. Yoga gave her a clear path to follow in what could be a difficult transition from adolescence into adulthood.

Blanca teaches a rigorous vinyasa flow class with a strong astanga influence; that focuses the importance of being present and working on the connection of body and breath flowing continually as one. She supports every student's individual journey. She receives knowledge as much as gives in her class and believes in working with students to explore and help guide them into a deep connection to their practice. Yoga is a beautiful way to come together and deepen that connection to the greater teacher within.
