Rajeev Kahn

Rajeev Kahn brings his enthusiasm to many things, Anusara Yoga being a primary passion. A native Chicagoan returning after over a decade of study and travel, he has lived, worked and played in many parts of the world. Though Rajeev first took asana classes in 1996 he credits Baba Hari Dass for kaleidoscopically reorienting and jumpstarting his practice at the end of 2000. Thanks to Babaji, Rajeev teaches asana as one of many practices for spiritual growth prescribed by the classical Ashtanga (Eight Limbed) Yoga system.

In the instruction of asana, Rajeev brings humor and creativity to bear upon the universal principles of alignment as taught by John Friend. Inspired by senior instructors Sianna Sherman and Mitchel Bleier during overlapping years in Cincinnati, Rajeev became an affiliated instructor of Anusara Yoga in 2004 and has been flowing with grace ever since. Prior to Anusara, Rajeev taught Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and was certified by It's Yoga after a 217 hour program. Rajeev has taught primarily in Victoria, BC and Cincinnati, OH but often teaches on the road.

In the past two years Rajeev has pursued the healing art of traditional Thai-Yoga Bodywork taking him to Thailand and India for training. His teachers include Nid Chaimongkol (Mama Nit), Itzhak Hellman, and Jonas Westring. In the prior two years he worked full-time at Bodymind Balance, Inc., a Pilates studio in Cincinnati.

In the realm of theatre, Mr. Kahn is Artistic Director of The Laboratory for Enthusiastic Collaboration and a member of Los Angeles' award-winning Namaste Theatre Company. He enjoys Shape Note singing and Kirtan chanting alike. To this Hinjew, bhakti is as bhakti doesBrahm Shakti, baby. Tat sat?
