Todd Boman
Todd has been a ardent student of Yoga since 2001. Shortly after he was introduced ashtanga yoga.
At first he was drawn by the challenging and physical aspects of asana practice. Slowly over a period of time he began to understand and appreciate the calming and meditative state of ashtanga yoga. He not only saw his body become strong and flexible but his thoughts were clearer.
Inspired by the practice, Todd has made several trips to India spanning over two years. A year and a half were
spent studying at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore.
Todd is full of gratitude for all the dedication Guruji and Sharath give to passing on the teachings of Krisnamaycharia.
Also while in Mysore he was introduced to chanting byDr. M.A. Jayaashree a professor of Sanskrit . With her he is learning to chant The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, the ancient texts on yoga.
Todd strongly encourages a daily practice. Having complete faith in it he feels it will
transform all parts of daily living physical, mental, and spiritual.
Todd teaches as he was taught in Mysore, moving the student appropriately through the series paying attention to the vinyasa linking the breath to movement so that each asana can be achieved correctly before moving the student forward. Through the asana practice the body becomes light and healthy allowing for the rest of the limbs of ashtanga to unfold. He believes as Sharath says. "Slowly, Slowly"and "Why hurry, We have our whole life to practice". |
