Learn to incorporate props to enhance your asana practice! In this workshop you will learn the correct way to use straps, blocks, ropes, bolsters, and walls to find proper alignment and fine-tune your asana practice. Props can help to increase stamina in poses and lead you to new depths of relaxation by letting gravity work for you. Learn how to reach previously inaccessible areas of your body where tension is stored and discover how to release it.
This workshop is appropriate for practitioners of all levels. Teachers will be able to bring new techniques back to their students. Vinnie Hunihan is the director of Akal Yoga and has been practicing various styles of yoga for 20+ years. He has studied prop techniques from teachers of many disciplines but primarily from under his tutelage with Gabriel Halpren and the Iyengar tradition. He has found that the use of props makes poses accessible to all students. Vinnie has traveled extensively throughout Asia where he studied meditation and yoga. He brings a lighthearted touch and a fine tuned sense of humour to his teaching. |
