Mira Binzen Teaching Yoga to Children Games, Games, Games

Games are an essential part of any children’s Yoga program. They reinforce the concepts of Yoga in a fun and engaging way. Dogs, snakes and warriors become obstacles, pieces in a kaleidoscope and elements in tag. In this workshop you will learn quiet games, high-energy games, fast games, slow games, games for younger kids and games for older kids. You will learn how to incorporate games into Yoga classes or any environment you share with kids.

All games become Yoga games when cooperative instead of competitive - and facilitate expanding awareness of self and others while improving coordination, flexibility and strength of both body and mind. Children quickly respond to this cooperative orientation and thrive.   Learn how to turn traditional games into cooperative Yoga games and give the children in your life the gift of always being “in”!

This workshop is also fantastic fun for any Yogi who is interested in “playing” Yoga.

Mira Binzen graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1991 with a degree in child psychology. She received her teacher’s training certificate from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in India in 1999. She is certified to teach both children and adults, and is registered at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance. Before moving to Chicago, Mira was a yoga therapist with the Integrative Medicine Program at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital and has been teaching classes to children, families and adults for many years. For her, the heart of yoga is discovering the self through joy and laughter. Her education, experience, and deep commitment to improving the lives of children and families are combined to create a training program of the highest quality.
