Lyndsay was first introduced to Yoga when she was a little girl. She practiced poses with her parents in her living room, the warm sun beating through the giant window in the middle of a bitter North Dakota winter. It gave her great delight. As she grew up she found herself drawn to the Theatre Arts. Nearly every Acting Class she took began with at least a half hour of Yoga practice. She learned that it connected her with her body, calmed her nerves, fed her creativity, improved her health, and opened her mind to fantastic possibilities. It became a staple of her lifestyle.
Then, as the innocence of childhood began to wash away, she found herself turning to Yoga to give her the strength to face the trials and tribulations life insists at throwing at us all. It’s helped her cope with the loss of her mother and labor through the birth of her daughter. It helps her stay true to herself in a world of illusions, and it gives her the ability to stay focused in a life so full of uncertainty. Just before her mother passed away she and her fiancé moved back to the Midwest. She was given a completely fresh start on life and took the time to analyze what she would do now. Again, Yoga became her backbone. It helped her rediscover the things she loves. She finally decided to earn her Teaching Certification from Moksha with Daren Friesen in 2007 and help others realize their own true nature and path. It gives her great joy to share with the world all that Yoga can offer.
Lyndsay believes Yoga is for Every Body, whether you are just beginning, hoping to improve your physique, repair an injury, connect to a deeper sense of self, new life as a mother, or you are a regular practitioner or athlete. Her classes start with feeling the structure of the body, connecting to the breath and focusing the mind on a personal intention. She guides you through your asana practice weaving the discoveries you made in meditation into your movements and postures. She looks to give you a firm alignment foundation both with cuing and hands on adjustments drawing mostly from the Astanga, Iyengar, and Tantric traditions. Her creative sequencing is often inspired from what she sees in her students during class. Her joyful, supportive and down-to-earth demeanor helps her approach teaching as an open dialogue with you, giving you what you need in the moment to go deeper into your practice. She aims to help you discover new things about yourself and your capabilities, whatever your level of experience in Yoga. Her goal is to share her love of Yoga with you and inspire you to continue deepening your practice. She bows in humble gratitude to all of her teachers and to the power of the breath.
