SUMMARY:Kirtan Sound Lab
DESCRIPTION:Mantra • Music • Meaning • Community\nwith Subala Dasa\n \nKirtan Sound Lab is an immersive mantra meditation experience that blends live kirtan, bhajans, and reflective listening into a welcoming, participatory space. Rooted in the Bhakti yoga tradition, this session invites participants to experience sacred sound not only as music, but as a transformative yogic practice.\nThrough call-and-response chanting, gentle musical accompaniment, and short contextual explanations, participants explore:\n\nThe meaning and intention behind traditional mantras\nHow sacred sound affects consciousness and inner wellbeing\nChanting as a practical meditation for everyday life\nCollective resonance, presence, and joy through shared sound\n\nNo prior experience with chanting or yoga philosophy is required. Participants are welcome to chant, listen, or simply rest in the sound.\nEach evening concludes with a healthy vegetarian dinner, offering time to connect, unwind, and build community in a relaxed and nourishing atmosphere.\nSubala Dasa\nSubala Dasa is the founder of the Bhakti Life Network (BLN), a collaborative outreach initiative dedicated to sharing Bhakti culture through sacred music, wisdom education, and community-based programs. With over four decades of experience in Bhakti yoga, Subala brings together devotional practice, cultural education, and inclusive community building in accessible and contemporary ways.\nAs a member of the BLN Leadership Council, he helps guide the vision, partnerships, and programming of the network, including kirtan events, educational offerings, and collaborative initiatives across the Chicago area. His work emphasizes sacred sound (harināma-saṅkīrtana), lived philosophy, and creating welcoming spaces where spiritual culture can be experienced as joyful, relevant, and transformative.\nMore info at www.facebook.com/BhaktiLifeNetwork ( http://www.facebook.com/BhaktiLifeNetwork )\n\n \n
