Megan Kelleher

Megan was raised amongst healers in Northern California, having attended energy workshops as a young child with her Mother and Grandmother. She learned early on the power of mindfulness, energy work, positive affirmations and meditation through movement. She was trained as a competitive gymnast who later focused her time and attention on skateboarding in the early 90’s. After moving to Chicago to study photography she found herself attending her first yoga class at Moksha in 1999. She identified the feeling of the class as coming home through her physical body into her spiritual mind. She dedicated her practice under many Master teachers, learning to focus on awakening the spirit and enlightening her higher self through the sacred lineage of Krishamacharya, Sri K Pattabhi Jois, and BKS Iyengar. She studied the 200 Hr Teacher Training with Moksha’s founder Daren Friesen in 2005, apprenticing in 2007, and again studying in 2020.

Her classes integrate the 8 limbs of yoga, guiding you with heart, kindness, integrity, and love. With focus on calming the nervous system, working through trauma, injury, and stagnation. She awakens the inner fire with a structured flow that honors your true self. Offering you guidance to practice with non- judgement and non- attachment, to create positive Samskaras by being present within the interior landscape of the mind.

She is a Mother of 2, who applies her yoga practice and training to parenting as well as through both of her home-births. In her spare time she still skateboards, works as a photographer raising money to support non-profits. She produces work to support bringing awareness to the benefits of Domestic Violent Women Shelters along with Children’s Hospitals. She manages a world renowned Industrial Design + Mechanical Engineering studio in the West Loop. She received the 2019 “Trailblazer” Conqueror Award from Chicago’s Cook County Commissioner, Dennis Deer, Chairman of the Health Committee.
