Yoga for the Holidays: Restorative
The holiday season can be a time of joy, connection, and celebration—but it can also bring stress, overwhelm, and emotional heaviness. For some, this time of year may stir feelings of loneliness, grief, or unresolved family dynamics.
Wherever you find yourself this season, you’re invited to pause, reconnect, and care for yourself in this nurturing yoga workshop.
We’ll begin by exploring the Yamas—five foundational yogic principles that offer guidance on how we relate to ourselves and others: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (moderation), and Aparigraha (non-grasping).
Following this introduction, you’ll be guided through a grounding restorative yoga practice, breathwork, a calming meditation, and time for personal reflection through journaling. Bring a journal if you have one—if not, one will be provided.
This is a donation-based workshop, with all proceeds supporting the Greater Chicago Food Depository, an organization committed to ending hunger by providing healthy food and addressing its root causes.
Come as you are, and leave feeling a little more grounded, nourished, and at peace.
About Sofia…
Sofia had taken yoga classes here and there over the years, but it wasn’t until 2021 that she truly connected with a consistent personal practice. Through showing up on her mat, she began to see her patterns more clearly and found the self-awareness needed to break cycles, heal, and come home to the peace and love within herself. Sofia believes in the power of practice—and in miracles.
