Yoga for Compassion Workshop

In the Yoga for Compassion workshop, participants will explore the heart-centered practices of yoga designed to awaken and cultivate compassion for themselves and others. Through a balanced blend of gentle asanas, heart-opening postures, and mindful movement, students will strengthen their emotional and physical resilience. Guided pranayama practices will focus on cultivating empathy, while meditation techniques will invite participants to reflect on and deepen their understanding of compassion. The workshop also includes practical tools for integrating compassion into daily life, offering techniques to express kindness and understanding in relationships, and fostering inner peace and connection with the world around them.

About Your Teacher…

Lucy, born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, took her first yoga class at eighteen. Throughout her time at Aurora University, she practiced intermittently, finding inspiration in the mental clarity that followed each session. As she navigated the complexities of adulthood while working as a special education teacher, Lucy turned to a consistent yoga practice to find both inner and outer strength. Now, on the brink of completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in the fall of 2024, her passion for yoga has blossomed from personal healing to a desire to share its benefits with others.

Lucy’s work with young students sparked her interest in teaching kids yoga, as she witnessed the positive effects of asana and breathing techniques on her students. She is committed to creating engaging and nurturing experiences for children through yoga. For adults, Lucy focuses on Vinyasa and Astanga styles, infusing her teaching with the insights of the classical yogic tradition.

Yoga for a Cause: A Series of Donation-Based Classes
sponsored by Moksha Yoga’s Teachers-in-Training

Join us for a transformative series of yoga classes that not only nurture your body and soul but also make a meaningful impact on our community. At Moksha Yoga Center, we believe in the power of collective action and the ability of yoga to inspire positive change. That’s why we are excited to launch “Yoga for a Cause,” a special series where all donations will directly support, helping those in need.

Each trainee is required to teach a workshop for their teacher training certification final with a topic of their choice and donations given to charity. These classes are open to all levels, whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga. Our skilled instructors will guide you through practices that emphasize mindfulness, balance, and connection, while fostering a spirit of generosity and compassion. By participating, you’ll not only deepen your practice but also contribute to a greater good. Every breath, every pose, every moment on the mat becomes an act of giving, supporting vital programs that uplift lives. Let’s come together, stretch beyond our limits, and create ripples of kindness that extend far beyond the studio. Your presence matters, and so does your contribution.
