Kallayah Henderson

Born and raised in South Florida, Kallayah began her yoga journey in 2020 after moving to Chicago. What began as a search for a deeper connection to her breath soon unfolded into a way of life, enriched by the rhythm of regular practice and the embrace of a warm yoga community. In 2022, she experienced her first group flow, awakening a love for moving in harmony with others. Two years later, she stepped through the doors of Moksha, where Aṣṭāṅga Yoga found her—and her journey as an Ashtangi truly began. Since then, her steady practice has brought transformation both within and without. Guided by the inspiration of her teachers, she completed Moksha’s Spring 2025 200-Hour Teacher Training, opening a new chapter as a guide for others on the path.

She offers both calming yet heat-building vinyāsa flow classes and the disciplined structure of traditional Aṣṭāṅga Half Primary classes, each a distinct experience in its own right. Her intention is to help students connect with their true selves, deepen their breath, and learn to quiet the mind—on the mat and in the flow of daily life.

Beyond the studio, Kallayah is an artist, poet, and art teacher whose mixed-media works explore the threads between human nature and the natural world. She hosts craft gatherings in Humboldt Park and nearby neighborhoods, revels in all forms of creativity, and delights in every moment spent beneath the Sun.
