Kyra Stensgaard

Kyra is a yoga teacher who believes in the power of mindful movement to ground, heal, and reconnect. Growing up surrounded by the waters and mountains of the Pacific Northwest, she found peace and presence in nature—a connection that now inspires her yoga practice and teaching.

After experiencing a major life change, Kyra turned to yoga as a source of steadiness and healing. What began as a way to move through uncertainty quickly became a grounding practice of self-compassion and presence. Through her journey, she learned to slow down, listen inward, and honor her body’s needs—lessons that continue to shape her approach to both practice and teaching.

Kyra’s classes offer a gentle, accessible style of yoga that welcomes every body. Her teaching emphasizes slow, “juicy” movements, mindful breath, and generous use of props to support all bodies in all states. She encourages students to move with curiosity and kindness, using each practice as an opportunity to reconnect with the body’s natural wisdom. Rooted in warmth and inclusivity, Kyra’s goal is to help students find what yoga has offered her—a moment to pause, breathe, and come home to themselves. Through her classes, she hopes to share yoga as a practice of kindness and grounding, one that nourishes both body and mind.
