Sidra Newman has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. With a background in fitness, she was initially drawn to the playful and physically challenging aspects of asana practice. When she embarked on her first yoga teacher training course she discovered in yoga a vast and powerful system for exploring the nature of experience, staying anchored in the present, and integrating body, mind, and spirit. Sidra completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Chaturanga Holistic Fitness Center and currently working towards completion of an advanced Yoga Teacher Training certification at Moksha Yoga Studio. She is currently working towards completion of a Masters in Social Work, specializing in mental health, at Loyola University. Sidra’s ultimate goals are to use yoga as a psychotherapy. Her goals as a yoga teacher and social worker are to guide people toward an experience of ease, stability, freedom, empowerment and inner peace.
