Kim Wilcox
From personal experience, Kim knows of yoga's power to change lives. A difficult tragedy at age 18 sparked her spiritual journey and a long series of life's bumps and bruises eventually led her to yoga, to listen to her intuition, and to trust in the Universe's loving grace. Yoga has helped Kim to make a series of transformative decisions that have propelled her along a blissful and healing life path. She is therefore truly excited about yoga's potential to enhance the lives of her students. We need only to open our hearts and take the first step and the universe will recognize our honest effort and begin to give back to us in ways we never imagined.
Kim's asana training comes from a very broad range of international master yoga teachers who have all influenced her eclectic style -- a blend of longer holds in poses to let the breath do its healing magic, combined with a fun, flowing sequence. One of her early inspirational teaches was Ana Forrest, who taught her to be true to her authentic self and to follow her spirit without fear.
In 2002/2003 Kim spent six months in Asia. She studied Thai Massage and meditation in Thailand. yoga asana, theory, philosophy and yoga therapy at both the Atman Vikasa in Mysore, India and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India.
Trekking through the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal, one of nature's most awe-inspiring miracles, also brought amazing insight to her life and to her teaching.
Most recently, the heart-opening beauty, and intelligent sequencing and alignment of Anusara Yoga have heavily influenced Kim's practice and teaching.
