Steve Emmerman
Steve Emmerman suffered a neck injury at the age of 15 that continued to grow worse over the years. By his early 20's he had unbearable pain and frequently could not turn his head. Steve was seen by doctors, acupuncturists, chiroractors, massage therapists, and other body workers to no avail. He started practicing yoga and did find some relief. But when Steve finally met Ana Forrest in a weekend workshop, his life changed.
For the first time in a long time, Steve could turn his head without pain, and he made the decision to work with Ana whenever possible. Ana's next visit to Chicago happened to be a teacher-training, her first in Chicago. Steve attended the training and soon after found himself to be in demand throughout the Chicago area as a yoga instructor.
Steve has assisted Ana at workshops, yoga conferences, and both the regular and advanced teacher training intensives. Steve was hand-picked by Ana Forrest to mentor other Forrest Yoga teachers, helping to strengthen the Hoop of the Teachers and thereby mend the Hoop of the People. He teaches at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, and leads workshops and retreats worldwide with Talya Ring.
"Steve is a strong and excellent teacher.
I admire his steady consistency and his courage
in working through his healing process.
He brings his gentle touch, deep understanding
and playfulness to his classes and workshops."
